Recalls and safety

Not a recall. Iron phosphate cells in the GAC Aion S swelling, leaking and losing power between 150,000 and 300,000 km, mostly in ride hailing fleets. The remedy from July 2026 was a warranty extension from 8 years and 150,000 km to 8 years and 300,000 km, with free inspection and replacement.

Not confirmed. Call it a defect episode with a warranty extension. As of August 2026 no formal recall notice had published, though the automaker had filed an application. The often quoted fault rate comes from consumer complaint platforms rather than a regulator. Do not publish it.
