Recalls and safety

A February 2026 federal recall of 11,895 Mercedes EQB. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a fire while parked or driving. The remedy is a full battery replacement, and owners were told to park outside and charge to no more than 80 percent. It supersedes a February 2025 campaign whose software only remedy was judged insufficient, so cars already fixed must be done again.

Not confirmed. An EQE with a Farasis pack burned in an underground car park in Incheon in August 2024, damaging 880 vehicles and sending 23 people to hospital. Separately Korea's competition regulator fined Mercedes for advertising cars as carrying CATL cells when some had Farasis. That penalised the disclosure, not the cells.

Vehicles using their cells

confirmed
Mercedes EQE sedan, EQE 500 SUV, EQS 350, EQA 250+ and EQB 250+, multi sourced with CATL on other variants
confirmed
GAC Aion V and UT for Europe from December 2025

Confirmed means an automaker or supplier statement, a filing, or a recall document named it. Reported means press or analyst claim only. Several automakers dual source, so one model can carry cells from more than one maker.
