Battery warranty

Hyundai

Percentage written

The number is there, and the belief that Hyundai halves battery cover for a second owner is wrong.

The threshold

What a used buyer should know

This is the correction worth carrying. Hyundai's own comparison table gives the same ten years and hundred thousand miles to a subsequent owner as to the first one, for the battery, the starter generator, the power control unit and the traction motor. The halving that people remember applies to the gasoline powertrain warranty, which does drop to five years and sixty thousand miles on resale.

Transfer to a second owner

Full term carries to a subsequent owner on the electric components.

Not confirmed. The 70 percent appears on a marketing page rather than in the warranty booklet, and the sentence carrying it is garbled. Treat the figure as real and the wording as unreliable until the booklet is opened.
