What Goes Wrong
Reported failures, each from a source listed below, as of October 7, 2026.
- Owner complaints NHTSA lists under the Hybrid Propulsion System component for the Honda Insight, by model year: 2011: 1. These are all hybrid system complaints, owner reported and unverified, not only battery faults, as of 2026-10-07.
- Honda Service Bulletin 14-064 (October 2014 product update, 2010-12 Insight and 2011-12 CR-Z) says the IMA battery control software incorrectly maintains the battery so that over time it can develop a 'memory effect' that appears as reduced capacity, and DTC P0A7F may be stored; the fix is an IMA battery control module software update. Symptoms
- Honda's October 2014 dealer notice for product update 14-064 says owners may see the IMA battery charge indicator jump and/or the MIL come on with DTC P0A7F. (static.nhtsa.gov: MC-10118827-9999.pdf, 2026-10-07)
